Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How old does a child have to be to start TaeKwonDo lessons at Ahn's TaeKwonDo of Fishers?

A: A child can start TaeKwonDo at 3-1/2 years of age. At times, even a yonger child can be accepted if he/she has the ability to listen and follow directions. Ahn's TaeKwonDo School of Fishers offers a program specifically designed for pre-school children between ages 3-1/2 and 6. Please refer to our schedule and look for "Litttle Tigers Classes."

Q: Doesn't a person become violent by doing MARTIAL ARTS such as KARATE or TAEKWONDO?

A: It is very important not only to teach martial arts skills but also to teach how to control and discipline oneself. TaeKwonDo is more of a sport that emphasizes anti-violence and self-defense. A person will learn how to avoid violence and in unavoidable cases, he or she will learn how to protect oneself.
